The summer crowd of visitors has departed, leaving Jackson Hole and Grand Teton Park emptier of traffic, which means easier parking and better accessibility in general to all the attractions that make this area special, noteworthy and — above all — truly memorable. The annual Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival is perhaps the biggest draw of the autumn season, but let’s not discount all the rest of the varied valley events, the musical and theatrical performances at the Center for the Arts, as well as the other pleasures and activities that characterize September in the Hole.

• "Sunday Funday" at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort every Sunday through September 10th - From 2-5 p.m., enjoy $20 bike park tickets and 20% off rentals from JH Sports.
• The iconic Jackson Hole Hootenanny occurs every Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Dornans in Moose.
• Wyoming Stargazing offers free bi-weekly, year-round, public stargazing events on clear Saturday nights beginning approx. one hour after sunset on the Paraglider's Field in Teton Village. Astronomy educators use large aperture telescopes to show you planets, stars, planetary nebulae, galaxies, and more. There are also several iPads with the Star Walk application installed, so you can explore the heavens while others look through the telescopes. There is a $10/person recommended donation. • Jackson Hole Playhouse Presents "Camelot" nightly until October 3rd. Step into the legendary world of "Camelot," where chivalry, romance, and unforgettable music come together in one of Broadway's most beloved musicals. Dinner at 6 p.m.; showtime is 7:30. • Free swing dance lessons at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
• Yellowstone National Park’s Tribal Heritage Center, located between Old Faithful Lodge and the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center, is open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, until October 3rd. There are 27 tribes associated with Yellowstone.
• Tuesdays are Karaoke Night at The BunkerJH from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The Bunker Pub & Eatery — located below Pinky G's Pizzeria — is home to two state-of-the-art multi-sport golf simulators and features craft cocktails, pub fare, and pizza.
• Slow Food in the Tetons Farm Stand at Snake River Brewing - Thursdays and Fridays, from Noon-6 p.m.
• Local musician Aaron Davis performs Wednesdays from 5-7:30p.m. in the Old Timer restaurant at Trailborn (formerly Hayden's Post at Snow King hotel)
• Raptors at The Cloudveil Program, Presented By Teton Raptor Center - From 5-6 p.m. every Monday through October, experience the magic of live raptors up-close at this informal program in the lobby. No reservations required.
• Snow King Mountain’s new, state-of-the-art Observatory and Planetarium — the only observatory on a North American ski area — allows you to stargaze and check out the skies day and night. A rooftop observation deck allows portable telescopes to be set up for additional viewing during astronomical events. Planetarium shows rotate throughout the day along with programming at the solar telescope, science on a sphere exhibit, and in the immersive private theater.
• There is live music on The Deck at the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's Bridger Gondola every Monday and Wednesday evening through mid-September.
• Open mic at Cowboy Coffee at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday night of the month
• Flights and Feathers at the Jackson Hole Airport- Meet birds of prey! The program takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday and runs through September 18th. No reservations required.
• Indigenous Arts and Cultural Demonstration Program Speaker Series at Colter Bay Amphitheater in Grand Teton National Park. Free event held from 8-8:45 p.m. every Saturday through September 20th.
• Historic Downtown Walking Tours - The Jackson Hole History Museum's walking tours are held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:30 am at the museum until October 2nd. You can purchase tickets at the front desk.
• Trivia Nights at the Virginian Saloon on Mondays from 7-9 p.m.
• Teton Raptor Center's "Little Wings Story Time" is held on the second Tuesday of the month through October at 11 a.m. It blends gentle storytelling with a special visit from a real, live raptor, up close and feathered. • Pinky G's Pizzeria hosts an open mic from 7 to 9 p.m. on Mondays.
• “Behind Linear Narratives: Indigenous Plains Ledger Art" Exhibition at Jackson Hole History Museum - Curated by Al Hubbard and Susan Durfee of Central Wyoming College for "Native Voices: Honoring Indigenous Ways," a joint project of Central Wyoming College and Native American Jump Start, this exhibition features ledger art by Terran Last Gun, Terrance Guardipee, and historical ledger drawings. • The Melvin Dojo on Town Square, located below Roadhouse Pub & Eatery, has live music on Wednesday evenings between 4 p.m. and midnight.
• Enjoy some good old-fashioned swing dancing with the world-famous Stagecoach Band every Sunday from 6-10 p.m. The Stagecoach Band has been playing at the Stagecoach bar since 1969. Often referred to as "Church," the band has been a Sunday night local favorite for generations.

• Wyoming Stargazing Solar Astronomy at The Peoples’ Market on the Center for the Arts lawn Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m. through September 23rd. Using specialized solar telescopes, you'll safely see sunspots, solar prominences and much more on the photosphere of the Sun. Free!

Bulls' “bugling” calls fill the air at dawn and dusk, creating one of nature’s eeriest concerts. Bulls clash antlers with challengers while gathering and guarding harems of cows. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are prime spots to watch rutting elk and catch an earful of their calls, whether from the roadside during a scenic drive or on a hike or bike ride through the woods.
